The Living Room (West)

Or as Sam calls it, the “green room.”

Not much to say about this space, but want to gradually give you the full tour.

(The previous tenants had a big TV where our couch is, blocking the front windows, and they kept the curtains closed to prevent glare.)

I love that all of our shabby furniture somehow looks beautiful in this house.  Is it the floor? Wall color? It’s something. I love it.

The couch cover is a recent addition, though it’s been packed in a box all this time. We had to prevent Booker from eating the rest of the couch.  The brown chair is circa The Farmhouse. The coffee table — I think — was a hand-me-down in the late 90s, and then I gave it to Rob, and he pulled it back out of storage a few years ago when I was again tableless.  The couch — $20 on craigslist.

This room is home to the buffet (on the left) and the piano (on the right).

Less is more, simple is best. The room is simply beautiful! I love it 🙂

The light is fantastic! How people can create a “cave” to watch TV is a mystery. Love the deep rich color of the floors.

Hi Kimmy and Ben and Grandchildren (and Booker),
–What a lovely sitting and visiting room! The colors are extraordinary and exquisite (and I mean it).
–I can hardly wait to visit and hear someone play the piano for me, or hows about I play it too?
–You all have a touch of blending things together in their perfect places, and it is perfect for the style of that “old house.”
    Love, Mamma
